pumpkins for our Pumpkin

We were finally able to enjoy some fall weather this weekend and head to get our little Pumpkin a pumpkin!  Brandon has been working the past few weekends so as soon as he was done on Sunday we headed out:) I've added some other pictures from the week as well.

So big! Thanks Grandma & Auntie Dee for the onesie, everyone was excited it was Adelyn's first Halloween:)

11 months

Absolutely unbelievable that Adelyn will be a year old in less than a month! Yikes!

She copies Daddy saying "woof woof"' (or her baby interpretation) when she sees the dogs. She's clapping, waving bye-bye, still standing with no support and crusing on the furniture (but no steps yet), she's got one bottom tooth and the second one coming in (second has been way worse than the first!), she loves to pull the laundry out of the dryer (big help to mommy!), and she likes to flip through books but is not so patient when I'm trying to read them to her. She can throw quite a little tantrum when she's not getting what she wants! We've also finally moved from the bumpo to her high chair (I know about time). She loves eating what we're eating.  She's tasted everything we've had in the past few weeks and especially loves: chili, Beth's swiss chicken, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, spaghetti, and anything she can eat on her own:)

I also didn't think she had a "snugly" until she was helping me with the laundry one afternoon.  She pulled out one of her blankets and immediately laid down on top of it and started sucking her thumb...ADORABLE!

Yea I know Adelyn is 10 and a half months old but as I've said better late than never:)

 Adelyn has such a little personality it's crazy! She is standing on her own, doing "so big," babbling, waving "bye bye," and throwing tantrums when she doesn't get her way (yes she's only 10 months old...I know).  She loves trying to stand, ripping up magazines, swinging & taking all of her toys out of her basket.

9 months

Our little miss is 9 months old...hard to believe! Adelyn & I had an awesome summer and that has come to a close:( Big thanks to Grandma for watching her my first few days back so I knew Adelyn was well take care of! 
Likes: crawling, peek-a-boo, playing the maraca, pulling up (and standing for about 3 seconds!), swinging in Pops arms, string cheese, fruit (mango, banana, apples, peaches, blueberries, and pears) & veggies (green beans, peas, carrots, and sweet potatoes).
Dislikes: sitting still, cuddling, and meat.

I've got two first cousins on my Mom's side, Conner & Callen.  I've always referred to them as "my boys" and we got to see them a few weeks ago.  Hard to believe they're so grown up but every time I see them I am still amazed.

nanci

Nanci is one of my mom's dearest friends from college.  They met at orientation many years ago (I won't divulge how many years ago...don't worry ladies) and have been friends ever since.  Nanci gave Adelyn an adorable outfit a few months ago and we had a little photo shoot today! Adelyn wasn't in a smiley mood but I got some cute shots none-the-less.  With the help of http://www.picnik.com/ I made this...

Nanci also visited my parents a few weeks ago and while looking at a picture of Mom from her senior prom Nanci decided she needed to be a brunette again. My mom always says, "it's hair and it grows," which translated to "I don't care if you dye my hair."  So while Mom and Dad were in Arizona Nanci did just that...dyed Pia's hair brown. Wow. {I think the only one that likes it is Nanci...}

little friends

I have good friends. I mean AMAZING friends. If you're reading this you're probably one of them!  But sometimes certain people come into your life at the right time and that was the case with LT and Ash Ash.  We were all going through some big changes, namely still being at UVa when everyone else had graduated and the beginning of our teaching careers. We were trying to make a difference, apply what we had learned, and please everyone (including some crazy mentors)! We were able to support each other and I can't tell you how much they picked me up EXACTLY when I need it. I'm beginning this post talking about friendship because that's what I hope for Adelyn, amazing friends.  Friends to drink too many apple martinis with (then take care of you!), friends to make white trash with and eat bags of it while watching American Idol, friends to drink Shiraz with (Ash have you had any since that night?!), friends that will take a European adventure with you and live to tell about it.  Friends. Amazing friends.

So with that I hope Adelyn and Mary Addison become fast friends, and I think they already have! Will they go to UVa? Will they live in old dorms like LT? Or new dorms like me?! Will they be teachers? Thankfully there is PLENTY of time for that but for now....
