Day 14 - "Sing loud for all to hear" 

We took this to heart as we sang Frosty & Rudolph in the car.  Listening to Adelyn sing is the cutest thing, she loves to start the song then "la la la" a lot:)

Day 15 - Christmas shopping! Adelyn is an awesome little helper:)

We also watched a Christmas movie, "Elmo Saved Christmas"

And the Elf (I think his name is Peter, as in Peter Pan...her choice right?! I was hoping for something a little more creative but oh well!)

christmas fun days 6-10

Here is the fun we've had over the past 5 days...

Day 6 - Slushie Party at Pia's (I of course took no pics) but I did catch one of her in her cute outfit from Nay Nay:)

 Day 7 - Santa rides through Leesburg and lucky for us he has to turn around right in front of our house!

 Day 8 - Christmas Parade (thank you Sonny & Jo Ann for your parade-front property yet again!)

My dear friend Maureen is the queen of the holiday season and I can thank her for the idea to do something Christmasy each day in the month of December. (You can read her blog here!) She did it last year with her son and I couldn't wait to plan our month! Granted Adelyn is just starting to learn about Santa, the elves, reindeer, Frosty, and the North Pole but I still thought we could do little things throughout the month to make it a little more special:) Here are our first 5 activities...

Also, since Adelyn is starting to understand the presents and Santa so on and so forth we introduced her to the Elf this year:) Aunt Lucy gave it to Adelyn her first Christmas but this year since she is starting to understand things we thought we'd break him out.  Pinterest is amazing because there are a million Elf on the Shelf ideas!  Here are his first 5 days...

Absolutely unbelievable Adelyn is TWO! She continues to be spoiled rotten, thank you all for the generous gifts.  She had a great weekend birthday celebration seeing family and friends. Adelyn you bring us SO much joy and happiness. I know this is very cliche but I had no idea it was possible to love someone else so much,  your dad and I continue to be amazed by you.  We love to listen to you sing, "twinkle twinkle, the ABC's, itsy bitsy spider, rock-a-bye-baby, and happy birthday."  We love to read to you, "play stickers," and color.  Your new favorite thing is tea parties and I can see lots of fun with those in our future!  You make us so proud:)

Quite ironic that Adelyn is Dorothy this year considering Hurricane Sandy and it's impact on our area.  We're so glad we got some pictures last week when the weather was nice considering it's taken quite a turn.  Every year (except for my college years) I've gone to the Pearson's for the Halloween parade.  Beth and I only went trick-or-treating to their neighbors but always ended up with the most candy because of the parade:) We would stand there with our buckets and soon they (as well as our parents' pockets) were full to the brim with candy! After the parade we'd dump all our candy on the floor and trade.  Sadly, very very sadly the parade has been cancelled this year and I don't even know what to do...
